Enrollment 2017-2018

Dear Magnet Parent and Student:

If you received a letter from LAUSD and Cleveland Humanities Magnet offering you a spot in our program, then welcome to the Class of 2021! We are excited to have you and your child join our unique learning community.  If you are on the Wait List, click HERE for information.  In order for your child to attend our school, you must do the following:


1. CONFIRM OR DECLINE ACCEPTANCE – Click HERE to complete the Online Confirmation Form OR beginning March 14th, contact our school at (818) 885-2342 to accept or decline your child’s seat in our program.

The deadline to do this is a week after you receive the first email from our office!


2. SUBMIT AN ENROLLMENT PACKET – Download a packet HERE or email it to jmacon@corebaby.org. All incoming students need current, up-to-date vaccination records. If your child has an IEP or 504, please bring us a copy with the completed Enrollment Packet. If your child is new to LAUSD, see online instructions.

The deadline to do this is April 21, 2017!



May 6th Honors Math and/or Spanish Equivalency Exam, 9:00 a.m.

May 24th Magnet Welcome Mixer, 5:00-7:30 p.m.

July 31- August 3 “Smart Start” Summer Bridge Program (Optional)

August 9th Freshman Orientation, 8:30-1:00 p.m.

August 15th First Day of School, 7:57-3:04 p.m.

        Please NOTE: All of the above take place at Cleveland High School


4. REVIEW THE SUMMER ASSIGNMENT – The 9th grade summer assignment is due the first day of school, August 15, 2017 and can be found by clicking HERE after May 1.


5. FINALIZE TRANSPORTATION – If you qualify for transportation (you must live outside a five-mile radius of the school), the LAUSD Transportation Office will contact you beginning August 7th regarding drop-off and pick-up locations and times. For inquires, contact the Transportation Office at (818) 709-5697 at the beginning of August.
