Weekly Announcements (August 21-25):
Quote of the Week: “The beginning is the most important part of the work.” ~Plato, The Republic
Coordinator’s Message: Welcome back, Corebabies! I hope your summer was one of fun, rest, and reflection, and that you are ready to begin anew this year. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding this week while our hard working counselors ensure you are all properly placed and that classes are balanced. When you see them, please thank Ms. Howe, Ms. Morales, and our newest addition, Mr. Wasserman for their tireless efforts.
I am very excited for this year! Our teaching staff is complete, and there are a few changes to report. I’d like to welcome Jessica Lin, Christina Bekaroglu, Alex Mitchell, and Dan Wasserman to our Cleveland Magnet family. Ms. Lin will teaching CORE 9 Environmental Studies and Chemistry; Ms. Bekaroglu will be teaching Algebra 1; and Mr. A. Mitchell will be teaching Algebra 2 and Pre-Calculus. I am excited announce that Mr. Fuentes will be teaching CORE 12 Philosophy and CORE 9 English; Dr. Cohen will be teaching CORE 12 SI and DH; and Mr. Kim will be teaching CORE SI and CORE 12 DH.
Each grade level has been working hard all summer to provide you with an exciting and fulfilling curriculum. Now you must do your part to develop the habits for success. There are many theories about what those habits are, but my suggestions include staying organized, establishing peer groups that encourage you to be your BEST self, being proactive, asking for help when you need it, enjoying the learning process, and making connections. Your teachers, counselors, and I are here to assist you, so utilize the resources available, and have your best year yet!
Counselor Changes: If your last name begins with A-K grades 9-12, your counselor is Ms. Howe. If your last name begins L-Z, grades 9-11 your counselor is Mr. Wasserman. If your last name is L-Z, grade 12, your counselor is Ms. Morales.
