Marisa Del Pino

Marisa Del Pino began her time at Cleveland High School in the Fall of 1998 when she entered the Humanities Magnet as a Freshman. As she immersed herself in the program, she quickly realized that Cleveland was the perfect place for her, one that eventually turned into a second home. After a busy Senior year running meetings as Student Body President and mentoring incoming magnet students, Marisa graduated and spent the next four years at the University of California, Berkeley. She graduated with a B.A in Sociology and minors in Chicano Studies and Education.

Marisa always knew she wanted to become a teacher, so from Berkeley she moved back to Southern California and immediately entered the Teacher Education Program at UCLA’s Graduate School of Education where she earned a Masters in Education and Multiple and Single Subject Credentials.

After two years of teaching in South Los Angeles, a surprising twist of fate brought Marisa back to the Magnet and what she refers to as her “dream job.” However, the Magnet is much more than a job. It is a home where she grew up and found her future husband. It is a family where she feels fortunate to work alongside dedicated colleagues and passionate students. And most importantly, it is a learning community that allows her to experience the transformative power of education on a daily basis.
